The original muster was to be held at 11:30, with the march commencing at noon. Prior to this, a small party had been invited to enter Westminster Hall to see the plaque where Wallace stood, and a small service would be held. There were a few slight hiccups here, in that Westminster staff started letting people into the building before then, and by the time the official party arrived they were told the Hall was too full! This was sorted out, and as a result there were at least two hundred people present during a short service at the plaque. The "Freedom Come A' Ye" was sung, the pipes were played, and chants of "Wallace! Wallace!" reverberated round the rafters. The assembled company then left Westminster Hall to commence the six mile walk through London.
