The evening event in the Welsh Centre

The wake started quietly, with a speech from Michael of Albany, and everyone finding seats and a welcome drink away from the heat outside. Clann an Drumma played, and got everyone in the proper mood. A quiet interlude of piping from various solo pipers and then the Alaskan Highlanders was followed by a presentation to David, to commemorate his efforts. Ted Christopher and the Bannockburn Band played a set, Skirlie got everyone up for some solo pipes jigs and reels, then Ted and the band completed the evening with all the old favourites, including "Shang-a-Lang"... The coffin was carried out of the hall, and people gradually dispersed into the night. Many hotels saw a continuation of the evening for a few hours, however.
